The Voice of AmericaPosted by Christine in Audio, Language, News, Text, VOANews.com, tags: Audio, News, Voice of AmericaThe Voice of America broadcasts radio programmes in ‘Special English’ using a core vocabulary of 1500 words. It uses short, simple sentences that contain only one idea and the active voice (rather than the passive), and it does not use idioms. It is excellent for English learners. Do you have a favourite saying? One of my favourites is: “A friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart”. Learn some more by listening to this audio clip.
